The National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR) is a membership association comprised of thousands of dedicated paid and non-paid personnelall active or interested in search and rescue, disaster aid, emergency medicine, and awareness education. It is a self-supporting, nonprofit association with the purpose of furthering the advancement of professional, literary and scientific knowledge and training in these fields. NASAR actively works toward the development of improved coordination and communications among federal, state, local, and volunteer groups. Their primary goal is to aid in the implementation of a total integrated emergency response, rescue, and recovery system.
The most comprehensive SAR training anyone has to offer is available from NASAR. When you successfully complete one of the official courses, you will receive a certificate of completion. These courses are recognized nationally and internationally as the standard of training. Some of these courses are available through a home study program. Visit the NASAR website
