The Cripper is a reacher/gripper designed for quadriplegics who have function of their "tenodesis muscle" (muscle on top of forearm which pulls hand back).This "wrist action" is common in quads with spinal cord injury at cervical vertebra 5th, 6th, or 7th level. No grip or finger movement is necessary.
The Cripper is lightweight (9 oz.) yet strong and durable. Its unique design allows for quick attachment/detachment to user's arm. Its jaws will pick up almost anything (up to 3 pounds), from coins to cans, pens to paper. Here are just a few uses:
- Safeguard children: pick up medications, sharp objects, etc.
- Open low or high cabinets and drawers
- Use your ATM bank card
- Clean up messes
- Clean up after pets using tin can/paper towels
