Historic Country Inns' Web site wins Dottie
The Historic Country Inns of El Dorado County Web site, developed and maintained by Placerville-based ComSpark, won the coveted Dottie Award in the "Lifestyles" category Thursday evening, Oct. 10, at the 6th annual awards ceremony at the Crest Theater in Sacramento. The Dottie Awards program honors Northern California Web sites which have excellent online environments with exemplary Web site design, content, resources and interactivity. More than 700 of the best Web sites from throughout the region were nominated and reviewed.*
The HCI Web site...features the 11 member inns with profile pages, slide shows, virtual tours, maps, availability request form, subscription form, brochure request form, attractions, events, climate information, virtual postcards, and printable recipes from the innkeepers. In spring of 2000, HCI awarded the Web site contract to ComSpark, who worked closely with HCI to create a Web site environment that was attractive, informative, and functional. The Web site has proved to be an important venue through which the inns receive room requests and provide regional visitor information to potential guests.
ComSpark was started in 1997 by Donna Reddin, who provides all phases of Web site development, including design, architecture, interactive scripts, hosting, maintenance, custom graphics, and technical writing. Her portfolio includes various inns, restaurants, other businesses, and ElDoradoCounty.Net, which was also a 2002 Dottie finalist. See www.comspark.com for more information.... |
